Kate often opts for showstoppers once worn by Elizabeth: Greville chandelier diamonds (a wedding gift from the Queen's parents), Bahrain pearl drops, the Greville ruby necklace and the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace. She even borrowed Asprey sapphire teardrops for a 2021 movie night.
Meaningful brooches and headpieces have been passed along as well: a diamond-and-pearl leaf pin first seen in Korea in 1999, the pearl drop "Duchess of Cambridge" brooch, the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara and the diamond fern brooch given by the Women of Auckland in 1953, later worn by Kate on the 2014 Australia–New Zealand tour with baby Prince George. The Edinburgh wedding bracelet also links back to a family tiara repurposed as a wedding gift.
