The reception honored the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth, bringing together representatives from many of her patronages and centenarians who share her birth date. King Charles, Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales and other senior royals joined the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh in hosting the event and posing for a group photo of the working contingent.
While Princess Alexandra and Prince Michael have reduced public duties, the Duke of Kent remains active—The Court Circular lists more than a dozen engagements for him so far this year. The royal household has also changed in recent years: Prince Andrew stepped back from public roles in 2019 and later relinquished his royal role in 2025, Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back in early 2020 and Queen Elizabeth died at 96 in September 2022, marking the start of King Charles’ reign.
